National Outdoor Recreation Conference

May 11-14, 2026 | Duluth, Minnesota

The Great Lakes Outdoor Summit is taking a break in 2025 & 2026 as we help our friends at the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals (SORP) prepare for the 2026 National Outdoor Recreation Conference (NORC) hosted in Duluth, Minnesota on May 11-14, 2026!

This incredible partnership allows the Duluth Area Outdoor Alliance to learn and connect with leaders at the national level, while amplifying the outdoor opportunities and professionals of our area.

NORC brings together over 500 people including recreation resource planners, land managers, policy makers, tourism and destination stewardship partners, researchers, consultants, innovators, and leaders in nature-based outdoor recreation. Great Lakes Outdoor Summit

We are taking a break from hosting the Summit in 2025 and 2026 as we help co-host the National Outdoor Recreation Conference in Duluth, Minnesota.

In 2024, the Great Lakes Outdoor Summit, hosted October 24-26 in Duluth, Minnesota, welcomed hundreds of outdoor recreation advocates, enthusiasts, and businesses from across the region to help build new collaborative partnerships.

We had over 300 outdoor recreation advocates from 14 states come together for three days of learning, networking, and adventure. We hosted 12 educational sessions, lead by 30+ industry professionals; one inspiring keynote speaker; over 40 outdoor recreation nonprofits, agencies, land managers, and retailers tabled to share their projects and hopes for the future; technical trainings; a live Dirtbag Diaries Podcast recording; five adventure field trips, and so much more!
